This is a gorgeous book, showing light and shade in Japan. What appear to be dark photographs have bursts of colour. Beautiful photographs
PERSONAL WORK - TAKASHI YASUI
I've followed Takashi for only a few months after coming across his work which I instantly loved.
I saw he had a phonebook for sale but had some initial reservations about ordering a book from Japan, but I needed not to worry as it arrived in the UK only 7 days after I ordered it.
The mix of photos is amazing, Japanese city scapes and other landscapes, silhouettes, sunrise and sunset shots, all with beautiful lighting. Rain and umbrellas, snow and street lighting plus lots of photos where it was clear Takashi had found a shot and had waited patiently for the right person, people or vehicles to come into shot.
Photos of cars and trains, and photos taken from cars and trains.
Lots of very clever reflection based photos too, involving buildings, car mirrors and puddles.
All very well laid out exhibition style.
In summary a fantastic collection of images in a super well printed photo book and perfect for anyone who already appreciates Japan scapes and good photography.
If you fancied visiting Japan before seeing the book, you'll definitely want to go after receiving it.
